LANSDELL, Wilma Jean Lansdell
September 20, 1936 - April 21, 2026Passed away peacefully after a long and well-lived life, Wilma Jean Lansdell (Whitfield), a resident of Maple Manor, Tillsonburg, on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, at the age of 89. Wilma is the daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Whitfield. She is predeceased by her husband, Clyde Lansdell (2022), and her brother, Norris Whitfield (2019). Lovingly remembered by her sons and their wives, Roger & Sandy, and Rayburn & Sal, grandchildren Kyle & Anna, Jessica & Carl, Devon & Briar, Nathan & Katlyn, Bryce & Lydia, Alysha & Dylan, along with fifteen great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Myra & Richard Tallman, Phyllis & Steve May, Ray Whitfield, and Rhonda & Ed Whittington, and sister-in-law, Julie Whitfield, along with several nieces and nephews.
Wilmaβs greatest love begins and ends with Jesus. From her love for her Lord, every other love flowed.
β’ She loved children. Interactions with little ones brought her great delight.
β’ She loved sewing and quilting. Making wedding dresses particularly brought her great joy.
β’ She loved baking, especially when she could share her home and her table with family and friends. She loved hospitality.
β’ She loved words, journaling, writing poems, creating cards, playing scrabble online with her sisters, and she wrote a book at the age of 77 about her relationship with God, βFrom Wilderness to Wonderβ.
β’ She loved flowers and birds, making her husband do most of the work planting, weeding, watering, and filling up bird feeders, but together they created beautiful backyard gardens.
β’ And above all of these, she loved her family. Her sons are blessed to call her mom. Her two daughters-in-law were her favourite girls (until the grandchildren started to show up!) She adored her 6 grandchildren and then their spouses. And her crowning family delight was her fifteen great-grandchildren.
Wilma has moved into eternity and is dwelling in the presence of her greatest love, Jesus. In her declining years, she longed to enter into the presence of her heavenly FATHER, and now she has been relieved of her tired body, released from the dementia of her tired brain, and receiving the reward of her faith, union with Jesus and reunion with many loved ones who have gone on before.
Cremation has taken place. A family gathering to celebrate the life of Wilma will take place on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026.
