LEGERE, Norbert Joseph Legere

Passed away peacefully at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood, Ontario on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 with his niece Monica Hébert by his side.

Norbert was born on March 2, 1957 in Tracadie, New Brunswick to parents Emile and Claira (nee Rousselle) Legere of Notre-Dame-des-Erables, New Brunswick. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving his country for 23 years.

Beloved husband of the late Deanna (nee Barnes) Legere. Loving father of the late Gabrielle Legere and stepfather of David, Adam and Reanon. Dear brother Emilio (Pat) of Orleans, Ontario; Marie Reine (late Jean Lanteigne), Claude (Claudette Leblance) de Baie-Comeau, Lucienne (Leo Paul Boucher), Claudette (Collett Roussel), Emilien, Yvon, Elphage, Gilbert, and Lina (Bruno Boudreau) all of Acadian Peninsula, New Brunswick. Predeceased by his parents, sister Yvette Legere and brother Jeremie Legere; He will be lovingly remembered by his aunt Albina Rousselle, mother-in-law Emilia, sister-in-law Rose Mary; four nephews, seven nieces, many cousins in New Brunswick as well as many friends in both New Brunswick and Ontario.

The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to Campbell House Hospice for the quality care they gave to Norbert in his last days, as well as the staff at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. A special thank you to his very close friend Dan (Peggy) William for all the blessings and the help given to Norbert over the years.

Per Norbert’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held in Ontario. A celebration of life will be held in Notre-Dame-des-Erables, New Brunswick with burial in the church cemetery in the summer of 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norbert to your local Legion, or to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
