Peacefully surrounded by family at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on May 29th, 2025, Don MacKenzie passed away in his 80th year. Adoring husband of Vicki MacKenzie for 58 cherished years. Proud father of Lisa (the late Ken) De Groot, Krista (Dan) VandenNieuwenhuizen, and Brad (Sonya) MacKenzie. Dear Papa of Cameron (Morgan), Michaela (Tom), Carter (Sarah), Gage (Emily), Brett, Max, Avery, Julia (Tayo), and Ryan (Gracie). Survived by his brother Bill (Jo) MacKenzie. Brother-in-law of Mike (John) Williams. Predeceased by sister-in-law Sharon (Ernie) Gilliland. Don will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Don was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 for over 50 years. He served on the Warwick Fire Department for 28 years and was a committee member of the Watford Regional Silver Stick for several years. He was an avid baseball player and enjoyed his time coaching baseball and hockey. Don and Vicki assisted with founding and organizing the Warwick Kids Ball League. Don loved fishing and collecting tools.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday June 1st, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the WARWICK COMMUNITY CENTRE.
