MAHARAJ, Rameshdath Maharaj

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rameshdath Maharaj aged 80, who passed away at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, surrounded by loved ones on June 27, 2025.

Ramesh, referred to as Chilone by friends and family, was a devoted husband, beloved brother, loving father, cherished uncle, proud grandfather, and cherished friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, talkative and easygoing personality, always welcoming home, and his in-depth knowledge of the stock market.

He is survived by his current wife of 43 years, Rachel (Pearce), his children Sherry, Daven (Michelle) and Audra, his grandchildren, Lia, Evelyn, Sara, Kennedy, Asia and Isla; step-children, Brenda, Russell (Kelly) and Robert (Cindy), their children, Michael, Kassandera-Raye, Jordan and Abel; siblings, Sumintra (aka Grace), Parbatee (aka Doodoo) and Sita (aka Moonsie, Dipshand) and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his father Ramdath (aka Rotia), mother Soogwah (aka Bhagwandaye) and his sisters, Chandrawatie (aka Joyce) and Khamatie (aka Gloria).

Ramesh’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre for their exceptional care of him.

Visitation will be held at the DeMarco Funeral Home – Woodbridge Chapel (8003 Weston Road) on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a service to follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. Interment to take place at Beechwood Cemetery (7241 Jane Street, Concord, ON).
