MAHARAJ-SEEGOBIN, Vindra Maharaj‑Seegobin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vindra Maharaj Seegobin, who died unexpectedly on April 27, 2026, in Sudbury, Ontario, as a result of a tragic accident, at the age of 42.

Vindra was born in Trinidad and Tobago and grew up in Kingston, Ontario. She was the beloved mother of Duncan, cherished daughter of Mohan and Indra, and a loving sister to Nirmala, Kivani, and Jonathan. She will also be deeply missed by her extended family as a devoted cousin and niece, and by the many friends whose lives she touched as a mentor and confidante.

Vindra had a vibrant spirit that was uniquely her own. She will be remembered for her warmth, passion, determination, dedication to her work, humor, perseverance, and creativity and for the lasting and irreplaceable imprint she left on all who knew her.

Her passing is an immeasurable loss. She will live on in the stories we share, in our gatherings, and in the quiet moments when her absence is most deeply felt.

A private service will be held for close family. Celebrations of life will take place in Sudbury and Hamilton, with a memorial service to be held in Kingston, Ontario.

Those wishing to honor Vindra’s memory may do so by supporting a charity of their choice, particularly those dedicated to the care of animals, support for battered women and children, trade schools, The Arthritis Society, The Diabetes Association, or the many other causes that were close to her heart.
