MANCEWICH, Rodney Ronald Mancewich
August 29, 1972 - February 3, 2026
He is survived by his son Jaden (Taylor), dad Ron (Lill), twin sister Naomi (Terry, Makenna, Brady & Carys) and his beloved younger brother Eric (Martina). Predeceased by his cherished mom, Elisabeth βBettyβ Mancewich in 2004.
Roddy was born and lived his life in Vancouver, BC. He loved himself some good olβ rock nβroll (AC/DC, Tragically Hip being faves) ..and Canucks hockey and Grizzlies basketball! Watching our home teams with mom being a memorable past time and the two of them yelling at the screen forever ingrained in our memories (can you just imagine them this hockey season). And a great love of dogs (just like dad now with Blondie). We always had dogs growing up and Rod always made sure they were being looked after by calling and making sure we were looking after βhisβ dogs ..being our family dogs!
Rod was of proud Wetβsuwetβen descent from Witset, BC. Spending visits every summer with momβs (rather large) family running and biking around the village and canyon, and around Smithers, BC. These family road trips taking us through Prince George where he spent time with dadβs family, Auntie Edna, Alan, Teresa and Darren, who he was very close to.
Weβd also like a special mention of Momβs many brothers and sisters: Uncles Tommy, Herb, Neil, William and Aunt Dorothy (all deceased) and Aunts Pauline and Marianne, and the many cousins from momβs siblings who Rod was very close to, just too many to mention.
Rod was also predeceased by his loving grandparents, Gus and Elsie Mancewich and Gordon and (Heriditary Wetβsuwetβen Chief Kweese) Florence Hall.
Rod loved biking and also rebuilding bikes, he was very handy – a skill he learned from his dad. He also had a love for cars, loved cruisinβ. Rod wasnβt just funny, he was smart and resourceful. Always giving us life lessons and what to be careful of in life, when we visited. Little things like teaching his sister Naomi to always come to a complete stop at stop signs, even when no other cars around (and lecturing her for 5mins after, she never did that again!). And when traveling NYC, sending a postcard and letting Eric know he was thinking of him and searching to get him a specific shirt. He really loved his family ..and worried about us too.
Rod most loved his son Jaden, so proud of his achievements (becoming a welder being a highlight) and he was the greatest joy of his life. He, mom and dad shared many wonderful moments together with Jaden before mom passed, her first grandchild ..who she and Rod loved to spoil.
We find solace in knowing heβs with mom again, but with profound sadness he left us so soon and suddenly. What we would do for more time with you, Roddy.
