MANN, Arthur Ramsey Mann

December 25, 2025

With heavy, but grateful hearts we announce the passing of Art Mann, in his 95th year, on December 25, 2025, at the Brantford General Hospital. Beloved husband of Cathy (Ewing) for over 67 years. Devoted father of Gregg Mann (Sharon), Jeff Mann (Kelley) and Lisa Rohfritsch (Dave). Cherished grandfather to Ryan (Rachel), Scott (Sarah), Braden (Jess) and Dawson (Camila) Mann, Shelby Vosburgh (Matt), Kylie Mann and Jason, Meggie and Steven Rohfritsch. Very proud great-grandfather to Hailey, Benjamin, Hunter, Layla, Cooper, Hayden and Taylor. Survived by his brother Ray (late Anne), sister-in-law Jean Mann, and brother-in-law Rob Ewing (Nellie). Art was predeceased by 13 siblings.

Art was completely dedicated to his family, and we are thankful for the many years of precious memories, and for his love and devotion. Art was an avid bridge player, and in retirement, he and Cathy formed a formidable bridge partnership. Art directed the Cyril Stone Duplicate Bridge Club for many years and volunteered teaching bridge at the Beckett Centre. He was honoured last year when the club was re-named “The Art Mann Bridge Club.” Art and Cathy played tennis at the Dufferin Tennis Club on their first date over 70 years ago and he later served a term as president. He was a long-time member of the Fairview United Church where he sang in the choir for 20 years. Most recently, he attended his church Christmas concert where he still sang beautifully.

Art was also devoted to education. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University, followed by his Masters of Education from the University of Toronto. He taught at Brantford Collegiate High School for 32 years, where he was also part of the Guidance department and coached many teams. Art established the Cooperative Education program in Brantford for which he received the Excellence in Education award. At BCI, The Arthur R. Mann Scholarship is awarded annually to a student for excellence in Cooperative Education.

Art embraced life and held a care and compassion for others that knew no bounds. He never hesitated to strike up a conversation with someone he had just met, offering a warm smile. His personality, sense of humour, and wit were unmatched. Art was always the first to volunteer, never missed a chance to step onto the dance floor and was an avid reader. He loved to take his grandchildren to “Papa’s Park” and loved his family more than anything.

A life so well lived; how lucky we all are!
