MARRESE, Bernardo Joseph Marrese

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernardo Marrese, age 58, on May 31, 2025.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Lisa A. Marrese, and children, Dimitri, Tiana, Amara, and Mattea Marrese.
He was a devoted son of Maria and the late Giuseppe Marrese, brother of Sandro (Diana) Marrese and Elena Marrese,
and family member to many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bernie (Nando) worked at U.S. Steel as a senior engineering project manager.
Above all, he was a devoted husband and father, known for his love of family dinners followed by long car rides for ice cream.
He was incredibly proud of his children’s accomplishments and never missed a chance to boast about them.
As a lifetime hockey coach and dedicated community “handyman,” Bernardo was known for always lending a hand to neighbors and friends.

In his personal time, he enjoyed watching documentaries and cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Niagara Minor Hockey memorial fund in his name.
Proceeds will provide financial support for children in need so they can play the game Bernardo deeply loved.

For Canadian services, a memorial funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 6 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Church,
135 Livingston Ave, Grimsby. The mass will be livestreamed at
