MARTIN, Crystal Donalda Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Crystal Donalda Martin at the Village of University Gates on July 29, 2025, in her 85th year.

Born on November 3, 1940, Crystal lived a life marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Crystal had a deep love of quilting, knitting, crocheting, collecting stuffed bears and cross-stitch, as evidenced throughout her home. She spent countless hours creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces—making newborn hats and little crocheted animals for the hospital NIC Unit, sharing her warmth and creativity with families in need. She had a passion for the outdoors, camping, riding on the motorcycle, and enjoying the many driving vacations across North America. She enjoyed card games of all types with family and friends. Crystal also found joy and reflection in the quiet comfort of a good book.

Crystal is lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Glenn, and her children: Kent (Andrea), Jeff (Peggy), and Eric Martin. Cherished grandmother to Darren (Natasia), Jennifer (Eric), Adam (Megan), Alex (Erin), Ben (Cory), and Laura (Caitlin). Great Grandma to Eloise, Miles, and Cavin. She will be greatly missed by her sisters Brenda and Arlene (Brian). Crystal was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Donald and Crystal Young, and her sisters Evelyn and Gayle.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Calvary United Church cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the PSWs and staff at University Gates and to Dr. Saurabh Kalra for the exceptional care and compassion provided when it was needed most.
