It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maura Catherine Fitzgerald, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at North York General Hospital, at the age of 85.
Maura was born on April 14, 1941, in Cork, Ireland, to Maurice and Mary Fitzgerald (née Conroy). In 1979, she immigrated to Canada.
Maura was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Mary Fitzgerald, and by her beloved brothers, Richard and Michael Fitzgerald.
A Memorial Mass celebrating Maura’s life will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 155 Walton Street, Port Hope, Ontario, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Charles Orchard as celebrant.
Maura leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of all those whose lives she touched. May she rest peacefully, and may she always be remembered with love.
Rest in peace, Maura. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
