Passed away peacefully at Marotta Family Hospital in St. Catharines on Monday, September 14, 2026 at the age of 91 years.
Mavis Irene Greville immigrated from Birmingham, England to Canada with her first husband, John Moss in 1958. Together in Markham, they raised their daughter, Julie (Rick) Fleming, and sons, Steve (Lynn) Moss and Mark (Jacquie) Moss.
Mavis married her second husband, Patrick Greville, in 1986. Together, they shared a 32-year marriage. The family grew to include Pat’s daughter, Cathy (Steve) Scott, and sons, Terry, Jimmy, and late Peter (Sharon). Mavis was a grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 7. Dear sister of the late Evelyn (late Philip) Peters and Margaret (late Ken) Franks.
Mavis and Pat started their life together in Richmond Hill, then moved to Bowmanville, and lived there for many years. After Pat passed away in 2018, Mavis moved to a senior’s residence in Bowmanville and then later moved to St. Catharines to be closer to family.
Mavis enjoyed being outdoors viewing spring gardens, autumn colours and camping. She also loved painting in watercolours and many of her paintings were hung on the walls of her home. She was very proud of her family and loved to socialize and boast about them to the many friends she made over the years.
Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street North, Bowmanville on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, with a service to follow at 2:00 pm.
