MCLEAN, Murray McLean

We lost a man larger than life and friend to so many. Murray Ronald McLean will be dearly missed, most of all by his wife and love of his life, Tracy McLean (née Jarvis). Murray will be welcomed to where he is going by his father, Ronald McLean, who will no doubt have a rum and Pepsi waiting for him. Murray will be deeply missed by his chosen daughters, Jenny Masse (Dean) and Brittany Broderick, his grandson JR Broderick, his mother, Doris McLean, his sister, Joanne Hood (Greg), father and mother-in-law, Hugh and Georgina Jarvis, brothers-in-law, Andy Jarvis and Ian Jarvis (Julie), as well as his daughters, Danielle (Gary), Elesha (Ryan), and Natasha and their families. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephew, Laura (Mark), and their children Margaret and William, Lisa (Jesse), Syd (Ben), Brett (Kass).

Together, Murray and Tracy built a beautiful life of music, friends, and laughter in their home in Wroxeter. Playing with their band, Tri-Country, Murray and Tracy performed for grateful audiences everywhere they went. When they weren’t laughing, Murray and Tracy loved to tear up a dancefloor, hit the trails in their side-by-side, or offer up an impromptu concert in their garage (always with a side of Bacardi and Pepsi). In fancier times, Murray might be persuaded to wear a shirt, but that called for a very special event. Murray was often seen moving about his acreage tending to the garden or puttering in the shed. He was always ready to give a helping hand where needed.

Murray had a very special place in his heart for JR, who helped Papa to cut the lawn, keep the chickens in line, or work in the garden. JR was the apple of his Papa’s eye and the two spent countless hours together. There was no greater experience in the world than watching Murray and JR share a plate of food or conspire to find their next adventure. Murray’s love of JR was deep and Murray will be watching over his little buddy as he grows in this world.

A time to reminisce, share some laughs and celebrate Murray’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 180, Wingham on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m., with remembrances shared at 2:30 p.m.  Please dress casual.

Following cremation, Murray will be laid to rest in Logan Cemetery in a private service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation.
