MOISAN, Thomas Moisan

The Reverend Father Thomas Moisan, a devoted priest of the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, passed away at his Walkerton home on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on November 23rd, 1944, in Chicago, Father Tom was the son of Edward and Nancy Moisan, predeceased.  Fr. Tom followed his vocation first as a religious brother with the Augustinians before discerning a call to the priesthood.  He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Hamilton on May 12, 1984.

Throughout his ministry, Father Tom served faithfully in several parishes, including as Associate Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Stoney Creek (1984-86); St. Michael Parish, Oakville (1986-88); St. Michael Parish, Waterloo (1988-92); Annunciation of our Lord Parish, Hamilton (1992-94); and St. Mary Parish, Brantford (1994).  He also served as Pastor of Mary Immaculate Parish, Chepstow (1994-2010); and St. Teresa Parish, Kitchener (2010-15).  He was always known for his compassionate pastoral care, thoughtful preaching, and unwavering commitment to his parishioners.  He also served as the Diocesan Spiritual Advisor to the CWL from 1998-2008, a role that he always spoke of with great joy.

A man of prayer, Father Tom was a source of comfort and strength to countless parishioners and brother priests, remembered for his kindness, generosity, sense of humour, and his ‘gift of the gab’!

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. Bishop Gerard Bergie presiding. Reception to follow in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.

Interment in Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Chepstow.
