PALERMO, Antonio Palermo

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Antonio Palermo on June 9, 2026 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Antonio is also known as Tony, Pa, Nonno and Anto! He was born in Borboruso, Cosenza, Italy, growing up with his six brothers and five sisters. Beloved husband to Olga (Pepe) loving father of Angela, Marlene (Neil). Proud Nonno to Mia, Julian, Massimo, and Dante. He arrived in Canada with his wife Olga and first-born daughter Angela in 1968.

He was born into humble beginnings and those who knew him knew he was a simple man who didn’t need much except for his family and his vegetable garden. He took pride in his traditions making homemade tomato sauce, sausages, sopressata and wine annually. He laboured hard in the field of construction over the years, always willing to lend a helping hand even after a hard day’s work.

He is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Maria, sisters Santarella, Nunziata, Ottavia, brothers Pasquale, Livio, Felice, Carmelo and Geno. He is survived by his loving wife Olga, sister Dora in Torino, Lina in Australia and brother Fausto in Borboruso.

Donations in memory of Tony may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
