He passed away peacefully after briefly living with lung cancer, at his residence in New Hamburg, Ontario, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with his family by his side, at the age of 75.
Born in Kitchener, Ontario, on August 6, 1950, Gary was the son of the late Shirley (Brown) Pautler.
Beloved husband of Mary Jane (Gingerich) Pautler, whom he married on September 29, 1973. Loving father of Sara and her husband Sean Hillier, and Rachel and her husband Brian Livingston. Proud and devoted grandfather of Kolton, Aleena, Sydney, Johnny, and Logan.
Gary PAUTLER will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Bonnie Gerber (Orv) and Chris Brunsdon (Ken); sisters-in-law Donna Pautler and Donna Gingerich; brothers-in-law Larry Gingerich (Judy), Clare Gingerich (Elaine), Stu Gingerich (Deb), and Keith Gingerich (Kim) and Roy Gingerich; and by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his brother Randie Pautler; his sister Nancy Bender and her husband Gary; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Rudy and Edna Gingerich; brothers-in-law Earl Gingerich; and sister-in-law Doris Gingerich.
In his youth, Gary was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he found enjoyment in bird watching, and weekly trips to the market. He found great pride in his career with the Ministry of Transportation. Above all else, Gary loved his family more than words could express.
At Gary’s request, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held at this time.
