PHILIPP, Verna Marion Philipp

It is with deep sadness that we are sharing the loss of our loving wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, Verna Marion Philipp, who crossed the threshold on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, to join the angels who have left us.

She was born in Hanover, Ontario on November 6, 1937, to Otto Metzger and Pearl MacFarland.

Verna was the eldest child in a family of ten children and caring for others was a gift that she shared generously. With her husband of 67 years, Harry, she moved to the Bancroft area after retiring from retail and lived off-grid for more than twenty years.

Verna was a woman who loved music, food, children, all creatures large and small and a rousing game of Scrabble. Her unwavering faith, commitment to family and boundless love held our family together.

She will be missed very much by her husband Harry Philipp, children Katarina Liberte (Joel), Elvira Berdais (Brian), Fred Philipp, Doug Philipp, Cheryl Bruce (Mike), and Donna Benjamin (Doug), ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
