PORTER, Helen Porter

Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Born in Hanover on November 6, 1932, Helen Clara Porter (nee Widmeyer) of Owen Sound was in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of Robert James “Jim” Porter of Owen Sound. Loving mother of Bruce Porter (Geraldine) of Kitchener and Gary Porter (Barbara) of Georgian Bluffs. Cherished grandma of Kevin (Ashley), Jason (Jennifer) and Shelby (Jim). Proud great grandma of Ryan, Cohen, Madison and Arya.

Predeceased by her son Keith Porter, and by her parents Norman and Anna May Widmeyer.

A funeral service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
