She was predeceased by her parents, William Thompson and Lucy Brame; her brother, Wilbourne Thompson; and her sister, Vivian Sanderson; and her beloved children Becky and Jeff. Maybelle will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Beatrice Currie; her β€œspecial daughter” and dear friend, Kathy Wood; as well as several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Tillsonburg High School, Maybelle attended business college and began her career working in a local law office. Maybelle Ravin later found her calling in the travel industry as a travel agent and co-owner of T&S Travel in Tillsonburg. After raising her family, she moved to Toronto, where she worked in client relations and sales at Sutton Place Hotel. With an entrepreneurial spirit, she went on to found the RMR Group, an influential Canadian travel representation company serving a wide range of hotels and airlines across North America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Her love of travel, combined with her strong business acumen, shaped a rewarding career spanning nearly three decades.

Maybelle also owned and operated a bed and breakfast in Niagara-on-the-Lake, a venture that became both her passion and a cherished retreat before she returned to Tillsonburg in retirement.

An avid golfer, Maybelle participated in numerous tournaments throughout her life, both at home and abroad. When she wasn’t on the course, she enjoyed watching the game. Among her fondest memories were numerous trips to the British Open in St. Andrews, Scotland, shared with her daughter Becky, who inherited her mother’s passion and talent for golf.

She will be remembered for her quick wit and hearty laugh. Maybelle was also deeply proud of her family’s heritage as immigrants to Canada from Virginia and made many trips south to visit her extended family over the course of her life.

Heartfelt thanks is extended to the staff of Maple Manor Nursing Home for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Maybelle over the past two years.
