This world has lost a loving, humble and amazing man. After a strong 7-week battle, Vic sadly passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Elaine (née Herman). Loving father of Robin Hachey (Dan) and Gary Read (Maggie). Dear grandfather of Christian St. Pierre (Jasmin), Daniel St. Pierre, Stephen Read, Richard Davenport, Jordyn Finlayson (Chad) and Kaitlyn Read. Great-grandfather of Carter Read, Isabella Davenport, Kye Finlayson, baby girl Finlayson (on her way), Jathanelle Latulippe, Jasmine Hachey, and Violet Latulippe. Predeceased by his mother Dorothy Read, Father Victor Read Sr., brother Keith Houckley and great-granddaughter Ivy Finlayson. Fondly remembered as Uncle Cookie by his many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
