passed away September 2, 2025 in his 90th year.
Loving husband of Beverley, father of Jennifer and step-father of Jennifer and grandfather of Lila and Matthew. Barry and Beverley also enjoyed their roles as homestay parents to several Japanese ESL students. Barry was born at home in Whitechurch, Ontario. He was the youngest of 8 children in Hubert and Jean Reed’s blended family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Merilyn (Hood), his parents and all 7 siblings. “Buzz” grew up in Listowel in a joyful home. He played many sports and enjoyed great friendships. He moved to London after high school and soon began a career in the life insurance business. He loved his job. Forty seven years of marriage to Beverley were full of fun and adventure, and the family enjoyed many years at their summer places at Chesley Lake and Zurich, Ontario. Barry was a lifelong member of the United Church. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, easy smile, kind nature and for being a gentleman. Barry was cared for exceptionally well and with such kindness at Fox Hollow Seniors Care community. We will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff who made his stay so comfortable. As per Barry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in Listowel Fairview Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.funeraloptions.ca.
