RILEY, Sarah Riley

The Lord called home our loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, at the age of 85. Sarah lived a life defined by her unwavering faith in the Lord, her deep love for her family and close friends, her devoted participation in the choir, and a beautiful gift of generous hospitality.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 years, Shannon Riley, and was predeceased by her husband,

Bill Feddema.

Sarah is survived by her children: Sid and Debbie Feddema, Rose Heart, Shelena VanDrew, Carl and Faith Feddema; her grandchildren, Josh (Jess), Kristin (Cody), Lyndsay (Erik), Michelle (Brad), Alina (Chuck), Andrew, Jonathan, Aidan, Amber, Lucas; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her five stepchildren Bob (Adrienne), Terry (Debbie), Sharon (Del), Gail (Scott), Mickey (Ellen), and their families.

Dear sister of Tettje (the late Harm), Sjoukje (the late Barend), Harmen (Carol), Helen (the late Fred), Gladys (John). Predeceased by her sisters Grace (the late John, the late Mel), Ann (the late Tiemen), Laura (John & Carol), Mary (Bill), and her brother Jerry (the late Grace).

Dear sister-in-law to Marlene, Shirley (the late Albert), Joe (the late Sally), the late Pete (the late Tina, the late Wilhemina), Jack (Grace), Reink (the late Tinie), John (Femmie), Grace (Ray), and Anna.

Sarah was born in the village of Aalsum, Friesland, Netherlands, on June 13, 1941, and immigrated to Canada with her parents and siblings in 1951. She married William Feddema on August 11, 1961, and together raised their family in Bowmanville, later in Blackstock, until Bill’s passing in 1992.

Sarah married Shannon Riley on May 28, 1994, and enjoyed retirement years playing cards with friends, participating in DRS projects, winters in Florida, renovating homes, cruises, and trips to Holland until Parkinson’s disease gradually took away her ability to move about freely. For the last three and a half years, she resided at Glen Hill Terrace Long Term Care Home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St., Bowmanville, from 4:00 to 6:00pm.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am, on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, 130 Scugog St., Bowmanville. A light lunch will follow the service.

Private Interment will take place on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Prince Albert Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
