RITZMANN, John Hans Ritzmann

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 18, 2026, at St Mary’s hospital, Kitchener. John Hans Ritzmann was born in Yugoslavia March 12, 1934, a son of the late Christian and Katarina (Reinhardt) Ritzmann.

Devoted husband of Anna (Rehmann) Ritzmann whom he married on July 11, 1959. Cherished and loving Father and Opa of Erich Ritzmann (Gina) and their children David (Becky), Katherine (Matt), and Jessica (Chris); Debbie Ritzmann and her children Isaiah, and Laura (Mike); Linda (Walter Strobl) and their child Peter (Mai Chi); and Karen (Derek MacDonald). Proud Great-Opa to Viola and Olivia. John will be missed by his brother Fred (Madeline), sister Erna (Kosta), and by his many nieces, and nephews.

Predeceased by his brothers Christian (Margaret), Ernst, Filip (Franceska), Adam (Barbara), Robert (Elisabeth), by his sister Eva and by a brother and sister in infancy.

A truly admirable man, gifted wood worker, loving husband, stellar father and wonderful Opa. He will be greatly missed.

We were exceedingly blessed to celebrate his 92nd birthday with him before the Lord called him home. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we will be united with him again.

With great love and admiration, we bid him Auf Wiedersehen….

Private family service will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg, with interment in Riverside Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ray of Hope, The Mennonite Central Committee or the Apostolic Christian Church (Strasburg Road)

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg.
