It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lidia Rizzo, who left us peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the age of 84. Lidia was born on July 26, 1941, in Calabria, Italy, where her roots of family, tradition, and kindness began.

Lidia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose heart and home were always open to others. She was the proud and loving mother of Erminia and Frank, a cherished grandmother of Lydia, Vanessa, Adrianna, Kristina, Diana, Matthew, and Daniel and loving great-grandmother to Luna, Ava and Ryker.

Known for her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor, Lidia had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. She was a fantastic cook, whose kitchen was the gathering place for countless family meals. Her caring spirit and genuine kindness touched all who knew her, and her love will continue to be felt through the traditions and values she instilled in her family.

Lidia’s life was a testament to love, family, and resilience. She will be remembered not only for her dedication as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, but also for her compassion, humor, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to share in her life.

She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A visitation for Lidia will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at DeMarco Funeral Home (3725 Keele Street, Toronto, Ontario) from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Fidelis Catholic Church (33 Connie Street, Toronto, Ontario) – time to be confirmed.
An entombment will follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario).
