ROULSTON, Sharon Margaret Roulston

It is with deep sadness that the family of Sharon Margaret Roulston (nΓ©e Dowd) announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth, surrounded by the love of her family. Sharon was born on August 25, 1946, in Listowel, Ontario.

Beloved wife of Wayne Roulston, to whom she was married for over 61 years after being wed on October 10, 1964.

Sharon was the cherished and devoted mother of Janet Daglish (David), Janice Dziadyk (Mike), Pamela Jenkins (Andrew), and Keena Ewing (Tom). She was a proud and loving grandmother of Cameron, Stuart, Mackenzie; Candice (Steven), Kayla (Chris), Chance (Marlen), Kennedy (Adrian); Piper, Laurel, Mara; Julia, and Emily, and a treasured great-grandmother of Wylder, Wynn; Hudson and Foster.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Larry Dowd (Sharon); her brother-in-law, Jack Roulston (Carol); her sister-in-law, Lisa Kuntze (Murray); and by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Margaret (Waddell) Dowd; her parents-in-law, Tom and Dorothy Roulston; and her brother-in-law, Mike Roulston.

Sharon’s family was blessed to be the true passion in her life. Her smile and kindness were unmatched. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and a sixth sense in recognizing those who needed some extra warmth. And she gave it. There was always an extra chair on the front porch to chat with a listening ear and an encouraging word. As a hairdresser, clients appreciated her skill, talent, and gentle way. Fun fact about Sharon – she received hairdressing training in NYC and was there during Beatlemania in 1964!

Sharon also had a quirky sense of humour and always looked on the bright side of things – β€œYou could be dead, or worse!” She was firmly grounded in the Presbyterian tradition of β€œwear it out, make do, or do without”.

She and Wayne provided a life full of fun moments for their daughters, including time spent at the cottage, traveling, camping in their trailer throughout Canada and the US, snowmobiling with the gang, Florida road trips, and creating family bonds across the generations. In later years, she joined the Red Hats ladies club and enjoyed trips to Ireland and Scotland with family.

The family wishes to thank the in-home medical team – Aleshia, Angela and Linda, who supported her health journey over the last three and a half years, as well as the oncology team at Grand River Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford Rotary Hospice for their compassionate care and support of Sharon and her family, or to St Paul’s United church, Milverton. The best way to honour Sharon’s spirit is to be kind to someone who may need a listening ear – to really listen to and see the people around you and β€œpass it forward”.

Family and friends are invited to Mark Jutzi Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2026, for visitation from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, Milverton, on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Sonja van de Hoef Fraser officiating.
