Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville ON. October 1, 2025 at the age of 97.
Survived by his two sons Brad (Linda) & Dale (Sherry), Grandsons Scott and Keith (Megan) and Great grandson Ethan Donald. Nephews Dirk (Lynne) and Mark (Velda) Varo, Dean (Sandra) Scott (Denise) and Greg (Jackie) Rundle; Nieces Betty Lou (Don Smith), Lynda McRobbie, Leigh (David Garvey) and Judy (Bruce Barns). Predeceased by his brothers Lew (Helene), Rae (Helen) and sister Helen (Silas). At the request of Don, there will be no service. The family thanks the Nurses, Doctors and Palliative care staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for dad’s care during his stay.
The family thanks the staff at Bowmanville Creek Retirement Home where Don resided for the past few years. He spoke fondly of you all and enjoyed the friendships he made there. Don enjoyed life to the fullest and always with a smile and a positive attitude.
Rest in Peace, dad. You’ll be missed immensely. Now your biggest mission is to be with mom, who has been waiting for 14 years.
