SAMBOR, Zenon Sambor
March 20, 1952 - July 17, 2026It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Zenon Sambor, at the age of 74. Surrounded by his family, Zenon left us peacefully on July 17, 2026. His life was marked by profound love, unwavering dedication, and a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him. A devoted family man, Zenon’s life was beautifully intertwined with that of his beloved wife, Elizabeth of 49 years. Together, they shared a lifelong journey filled with cherished memories, laughter, and steadfast support. Zenon was a true source of strength and a guiding light for his family. He is survived by his four children: Marek (Kristen), Urszula (Chris), Maryla, and Marcin (Alanna), who will carry forward the invaluable lessons he imparted, kindness, hard work, and the importance of family unity. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanislaw and Marianna, his brothers Piotr (survived by Stanislawa), Mieczyslaw (Irena), Jozef (Marianna), Zdzislaw (Eugenia) Maria (Edmund), Stanislawa (Franciszek), Krystyna (Jan). He is survived by his loving sister, Teresa (predeceased by Zdzislaw). Zenon will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews across Canada and Poland, as well as his dear friends and his adored grand-dogs, who brought him immense joy and companionship. Zenon immigrated to Canada alongside his mother in 1969. He went on to devote over 45 years to his career at Dofasco, exemplifying dedication, hard work, and perseverance throughout his life. Outside of work, Zenon loved spending time outdoors. From hunting and fishing trips with his brother and children to crafting his famous sour pickles and homemade sauerkraut, these cherished traditions and memories will live on forever.The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at Hamilton Juravinski Hospital for their compassionate care and support. A special thank you is also extended to Zenon’s niece and goddaughter, Renata Vaughan (Szambor), for helping the family through this difficult time.
In keeping with Zenon’s wishes, a private service will be held in his honour.
