Elisabeth Sanders passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, with her family by her side. She is now in the arms of our Lord and finally reunited with her beloved husband, Wilhelm (Bill) of 57 years. Born in Papenburg, Germany to Gerhard Albers and Gesina (née Putten), Elisabeth was a devoted mother to Sonja (husband Joe) and Frank (predeceased, wife Sharon). She was a wonderful Oma to her grandchildren—Thomas (predeceased), Tianna, Kelson, Stephanie, and Alyssa-Joe—and a cherished Great-Oma to Amelia, Aleeah, and Azariah.
Elisabeth is predeceased by her eight siblings: Heinz, Hermann, Hans, Gerhard, Hubert, Helena, Gisela, and Engelina. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring person, who found joy in tending her garden and sharing her passion for flowers. She was a talented woman, especially skilled in needlecrafts, and also a professional businesswoman—working as a tax consultant and owning a jewellery store. Most importantly, she was the greatest Mom and Oma her family could ever ask for.
Those who knew her knew her love for flowers and her commitment to Club Loreley, where she and her family were long-time members. She generously contributed her time to the Club and supported its activities wholeheartedly. Elisabeth and her husband were also proud supporters of Covenant House in Toronto, reflecting their lifelong compassion and generosity.
