SAVAGE , Harry Wilfred Savage

Harry Wilfred Savage of Harriston passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 29, 2025, in his 83rd year. He will be deeply missed.

Beloved husband of Betty (Whittal) Savage. Father of Sheri Stuffles (John) of Keswick, Nancy Savage of Harriston, and Steve Savage (David Taylor) of Ottawa. Grandfather of Arik Stuffles. Brother of Bruce Savage (Darlene), and brother-in-law of Ruth Anne Savage.

Predeceased by his parents Wilfred & Effie (Mighton) Savage, brother Howard Savage, sister Vera Norris, and brothers-in-law Jack Young and Bill Norris.

Harry grew up and lived in the Harriston area. He was a hardworking man who spent a lot of his time outdoors working on the farm and with his construction business. He loved fixing and operating his machinery and other items and could often be found in his shop.

He was kind, friendly, caring, helpful and had a great sense of humor. He was well respected and fondly remembered by many and always happy to lend a helping hand. Church, his faith, family, friends, and neighbors were very important to him.

He liked to take photos and videos and enjoyed looking at them regularly. He collected old machinery and engines and proudly showed them to his family. He also loved to listen to his old records, tapes and CDs and watch videos, and especially enjoyed hymns, southern gospel, and country and western music.

Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Wednesday Sept. 3, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Palmerston Evangelical Missionary Church on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m, with refreshments to follow.
