It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Ken Schermann, who passed away on August 14, 2026.

Ken is lovingly survived by his wife of 55 years, Rita; children Tammy, Jenny, and Nancy (Adrian); grandchildren Ashley, Samantha, and Zackary; great-grandson Ben; and siblings Bev and Mike.

He now goes to join his siblings who passed before him: brother Brian, and sisters Suzanne and Sandy.

Ken was a kind and gentle man whose greatest joy was his family. He loved them dearly and treasured the simple comfort of spending time at home. He found happiness in the beauty around him, especially flowers and birds, and appreciated the quiet moments they brought. Ken also enjoyed cooking and could often be found watching the Food Channel, picking up ideas and enjoying the dishes being prepared.

A devoted sports fan, Ken loved settling in to watch a game and cheer on his favourite teams. He also enjoyed travelling, with trips to Mexico providing many wonderful memories and a chance to enjoy warmer days away.

Kind, gentle, and deeply loyal, Ken was someone whose caring nature touched the lives of those around him. His warm presence and the love he shared with his family will always be remembered, and he will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 11:00 am, located at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 750 Rutland Rd N, Kelowna, BC, with Father Pat presiding.
Reception to follow.
