SHOEMAKER, Kayann Irene Shoemaker

With heavy hearts, the family of Kayann Irene Shoemaker (née Clark) announces her peaceful passing on June 23, 2026, in her 86th year.

Kayann was born on July 3, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Stanley and Irean (Benson) Clark. She lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and devotion to her family. A caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kayann found her greatest joy in the people she loved. She was known for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering support of those around her. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many and will be remembered always.

Beloved wife of Graham Shoemaker. Loving mother of Cheryl Ann (Tyler) and Jeff (Holly). Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. Kayann was predeceased by her parents and other beloved family members who welcomed her home.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Village on the Ridge for the exceptional care, compassion, and support shown to Kayann throughout her time there.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Kayann’s life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Kayann’s memory to the Ridgetown Legion Branch #243 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love Kayann shared and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
