It is with great love and sadness that we announce the loss of Raymond Leslie Smith, who went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2026, at the age of 68.
Raymond is lovingly survived by his wife of 32 years, Nila; cousins Mozhan and Razvan; Mariana, who was like a sister; and best friend, Bill (Sandra) Warren.
He now goes to join those who passed before him, including his parents Pearl and Merle Smith, and brother Lawrence Smith.
Raymond was born on December 17, 1957, in Calgary, Alberta, as one of four siblings in a close-knit family. In 1994, he met the woman who would become the love of his life, and together they built a life filled with laughter, partnership, and nearly three decades of marriage. Raymond had a natural talent for working with his hands and took great pride in his work as a cabinet maker. Whether it was a small repair or a detailed project, he believed things should be done properly, and when Raymond worked on something, it had to be perfect.
Beyond his skill and dedication, Raymond was known for his great sense of humour and the warmth he carried with him. He had a good heart and a way of making those around him feel comfortable and cared for. Raymond will be remembered not only for the work he created with his hands, but for the kindness, laughter, and steady presence he brought to the lives of those who knew him.
He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Funeral Mass with Reverend Maurice officiating will be held on TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2026, at 11:30 AM (PDT), located at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 839 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, BC. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall, with an interment to follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Ave, Kelowna, BC.
