Fred Stoppel, 79, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025 surrounded by his adoring family. Fred was the loving husband of Brenda for 53 years. Fred was a devoted father and father-in-law to Laurie, Natalie and Daniel (Faith), grandfather to Bina, Louis, Stella and Milly, brother-in-law to Gail (and the late Lou), uncle to Michael (Sherry), Shawn and the late Alana and great-uncle to Maxine. Special thanks to Gloria, Jan and Anne who helped Brenda and Fred throughout the last year of his life.
Fred spent his career helping high school students as a guidance counselor and was known in the community for his beautiful photography of Jewish simchas. Born to Holocaust survivors Ignac and Helen on July 12, 1946, building a Jewish family and honoring Jewish traditions was always important to him.
Fred was loved and adored by his family and many wonderful friends and he will be greatly missed.
