STUERLE, Edeltraut Stuerle
February 10, 1935 - January 11, 2026
Passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at Lakeview Lodge in West Kelowna, BC.
Born on February 10, 1935, in Paluszek, Poland, to Leopold and Martha Alisch, Edeltraut’s early life was shaped by extraordinary challenges. Following the upheaval of war, she immigrated to Winnipeg with her family in 1951 and later settled in the Okanagan, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and community.
For many decades, Edeltraut was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church. Her faith provided strength and purpose throughout her life, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving alongside her church family.
Edeltraut Stuerle was known for her creativity and attention to detail. An accomplished cake decorator, seamstress, and homemaker, she took pride in creating beauty in everyday life and in celebrating special occasions with family and friends.
In her later years, Edeltraut faced the challenges of dementia with grace. Even as memories faded, her gentle nature remained unchanged.
While we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, Adolf Stuerle; her brother, Gary Alisch; and her sister, Erika Kelbert.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Irma Koberstein; her children, Ed Stuerle and Dori Kaplun; her three cherished grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth and generosity.
