Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Bluewater Health, John Visser went to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Dena for 60 years. Loving father of Kimberly, David (Monique) and Peter (Sarah). Cherished grandfather of Elissa (Garrett), Shawn, Nicole, Linnea, Joshua, Jacob, Michael and Allison. Treasured great-grandfather of Wyatt and Adeline. Dear brother of Betty (Richard) and Ellen (Brian). Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his brothers Henk (Cobie) and Arjen. John was born in Zeist, Netherlands on July 15, 1935. He emigrated with his family in 1958, and settled initially in Red Deer, Alberta. He later moved to Toronto, where he met his wife. John worked for many years at McCurdy Electronics Ltd. in their broadcast engineering department and retired from Daymar Security.

He was a car enthusiast, and loved camping. John spent hours woodworking and building furniture. He was very active with First Christian Reformed Church, acting as a clerk, and volunteered for both the Celiac Association and the Red Cross. John’s smile will not be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed. A private family interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at First Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Exmouth St, Sarnia, on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Sarnia Christian School (cheques only at the funeral home please).
