Wanda Emilia Smith (nee Arseniuk)
August 24, 2025
Wanda Smith of Paris, Ontario passed away at Brantford General Hospital, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 72 years of age. Beloved wife of Tom. Loved mother of Andrea. Dear sister of Emil Arsenuik (the late Helen) and Alexandra Boratynec (the late Steve). She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, surviving extended family members, and a wide circle of friends. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Helen Arseniuk (nee Kosinski), her sister Annie and brother Peter.
Wanda’s life began on a homestead farm in northern Alberta in 1953. She lived in a small log cabin with no plumbing, no central heating and no electricity. The family sold the farm and moved to Edmonton when she was in Gr 9. She went to St. Joseph High School and there met her future husband, Tom. As Tom went to Military College, Wanda went to NAIT, taking Dental Assisting. She worked in Edmonton and Calgary for 35 years as a Dental Assistant, 25 of those years with Bill Nauss, a time she remembered very fondly. Their daughter, Andrea, was born in 1986. Wanda and Tom moved to Paris in 2008. She retired from Dental Assisting and focused on our home and our cats. She made friends with many people in the neighborhood and continued to hone her exceptional culinary skills. Her meals creations were often displayed on Facebook and received many positive responses. She is greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to join together to celebrate Wanda’s life at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N., Paris, Ontario on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 5-8 pm. Special memories will be shared at 7pm.
