WILLIAMS, Noreen Lorretta Williams

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the age of 89 at Marigold Hospice. She is reunited with her loving husband of 69 years, Cecil Williams, her parents Richard and Gilberte Mahon, her brother Raymond Mahon, and her cherished grandson Nicholas Williams.

Noreen Lorretta Williams is forever loved and deeply missed by her children Tara (Chris), Richard (Shelly), and Patrick (Wendy). She was the best—and most fun—Gramma to Mandi (Grant), Brandon, Jaclyn (Ryan), Nicholas, Brittany (Peter), Jagger, and Luke (Storm), as well as her eight great grandchildren, each of whom she adored and shared a special bond with.

She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Gordon Mahon, her sister Madeline Hickling, and her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Noreen and Cec raised their family with love, laughter, and a strong work ethic that allowed them to retire to Belmont Lake, where Noreen spent more than twenty years as the “hostess with the mostest” and the life of every party. Though small in stature, she was larger than life—warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. If you were lucky enough to visit Cec and Noreen in those days, you surely left with a full belly and an even fuller heart.

Gramma, you were one in a million, and we know Poppa has been saving a dance for you in Heaven.

A Catholic Mass in honour of Noreen will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 214 King Street East, Newcastle, on Friday, June 26th at 11am with light refreshments to follow.
