WOOD, Leslie ‘Les’ Gordon Wood

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Leslie ‘Les’ Gordon Wood on July 9, 2025, at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound, at the age of 90.

Beloved husband of the late Georgina. Loving father of Julie (Chris) Cochrane, Nancy Lipsett, Kevin (Paula) Wood, and Lesley Wood. Predeceased by his daughter, Christie Wood. He will be fondly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cherished by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Les spent most of his life in the Grey County area and enjoyed many adventures along the way, from skidooing to cards. He was an incredible talent, a Jack of All Trades, having the unique ability to envision a home from the ground up and the skills to make that vision come to life. He was known for the care and dedication he had for those he loved.

Les was an avid gardener and incredible cook, bringing the produce he grew into delicious meals for all to share. He was self-sufficient, gracious, kind, and caring. He loved music and people, and he made friends everywhere he went. His calm demeanour and incredible sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will be received for a visitation at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, 1 Highland, Flesherton, on Tuesday, July 15th from 10:00 am until the service time at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at the Flesherton Kinplex. Les will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
