WOOD, Linda Caroline Wood

Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Monday May 4th, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Orillia, predeceased by her parents Arnold and Shirley Thornton. Loving mother of René Bernier and Michelle Jackson (late Chris). Devoted grandmother of Taylor (Andrew), Aliya (Jacob), Conor (Felicia), Anika (Chris) and proud great grandmother of Stevie and Buckland. Dear sister of Brenda Latour (Pat), Eddie Thornton (Melody), David Thornton (Marilyn), Heather McMeekin (Dave), Randy Thornton (predeceased) and Terry Thornton. Linda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She was a proud matriarch, and her family were her entire world. Linda Caroline Wood had a wicked sense of humour and was known for a good laugh and for being a firecracker. She had a passion for watching Toronto Blue Jays games. Linda loved to go thrifting on a Saturday morning, tending to her garden and snuggles with her dog Winnie. She will be remembered for her many years of service with the Orillia Legion Branch 34, ladies auxiliary and her teammates from years of playing ball through to darts in her later years. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Moose Lodge 1217 in Orillia, on Sunday May 17th, 2026, from 2-4pm.
