SINGH, Swaran   -

April 23, 1941 - March 16, 2024

Swaran Singh passed away in his sleep on March 16, 2024, at the age of 82.

He was born on April 23, 1941, in the village of Jai Rampur, Punjab, India. At age 23, he immigrated to London, England, where he married his wife, Darsho Kaur, and started a family.

At age 55, he immigrated to Canada with his family, where he spent the rest of his days.

A skilled bricklayer by trade, Mr. Singh was very handy. He revelled in building, fixing, and painting around the house. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, cycling, running, watching kabaddi, taking his grandchildren to the park, and cheering them on during their soccer and basketball tournaments.

His Sikh faith provided him with meaning and purpose. He spent many years doing seva at Roseberry Gurdwara in London, England, and was deeply rooted in the Sikh community. Known lovingly to us as Dad, Baba, or Nana, he is survived by his wife (Darsho Kaur); 5 children: Menjit, Sukhvinder (Manjeet), Lakhbir (Jaspreet), Jasvinder (Sandip), and Gurminder (Mandeep); and 13 grandchildren of the Sanghera, Dhillon, and Rana families. He was very fond of his loving sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, and their families across the globe.

We will never forget your beautiful smile as you journey to the other side to be reunited with your lost loved ones.

A special thank you to Trish and Arshi for the wonderful care and seva that they provided to Mr. Singh in his time of need. We will never forget it.

The Funeral Service took place on March 20, 2024, at the Brampton Crematorium & Visitation Center, followed by the gurdwara service at Ontario Khalsa Darbar.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. Happy Birthday to our loving Dad, Baba and Nana. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
