Landers Sister MaryLANDERS, Sister Mary Margaret "Marie"   -  Sister of St. Helena of Mary Congregation of Notre Dame

July 2, 1927 - May 20, 2023

Peacefully, at St. Joseph Residence, 2 O'Connor Dr., Toronto, ON.

Sister Mary Margaret Landers entered eternal life in her 96th year. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Tomas Peter and Annie Maria Slocombe; and her sisters, Helena Heiman and Madeline Clarke.

She is survived and loved by her niece, Lyn; and nephew, Brian.

Marie will be fondly remembered by her niece and nephew, and by her CND religious community, students and collaborators in ministry.

Since her entrance into the Congregation of Notre Dame in 1946, Marie served in education in Toronto Schools, Department of Indian Affairs, Manitoulin Island, and local CND Administration in Ottawa and in the community's Social Justice Office. Over the past ten years as a resident at 2 O'Connor, Marie received excellent care and genuine kindness.

For this, we are grateful to the Sisters of St. Joseph and the staff.

After a private cremation, friends will be received at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 467 Sherbourne St., from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., with a prayer service starting at 7 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, located at 520 Sherbourne St., on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow.
