She was born as the tenth child to parents Tze Wang Lai and Seoi Ke Chow in Canton, China.
She was a well respected home economic teacher before her marriage to Mr. Tze Wai Lau in 1946.
She is survived by two daughters: Grace M.Tang, of New Jersey, U.S.A. and Angela M. Lau of Toronto, grandson Stephen C.Tang and granddaughter Katherine C. Tang.

KIDD, Mary Edna (born Thompson) - Our mother Mary (she was always full of grace) departed this world on Sunday afternoon February 2, 2020 in her 99th year, to be with her husband Mac. She passed on in the company of her children at the Waterford Retirement residence in Barrie, Ontario.
She was predeceased on February 15, 2010 by her husband of 61 years Gordon McLean Kidd (Mac) and she missed him dearly.
She was a wonderful caring mother, a confidante and a source of support and encouragement for her six children Don (Barb), Kate (Demetre, deceased), Charles, Barb (Clyde), Jean (Jay) and Ken (Andrea).

A Toronto native, Carol raised her family in Toronto but then sought out a less urban environment, spending many happy years in Mount Forest and Kincardine, and ultimately returning to Toronto to be closer to her family.
