MacCoubrey AllanMACCOUBREY, Allan George - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan peacefully on August 16, 2018 at his home in Bolton, with his son Darcy and cousin Wayne by his side, following a long but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Cavendish, PEI in 1946, Allan and his brother Ian developed a brotherly connection with their cousin Wayne Saulnier.  When they moved to Ontario as young men, that special bond continued and Allan became “uncle” to Wayne’s children, especially his son Wayne.

Allan was a very resourceful and determined man. Growing up, he always said he would be a heavy equipment operator.

At 18, Allan came to Ontario to fulfill that dream. He worked hard and at 25 he purchased his first Dump Truck, and first bulldozer and backhoe soon after. In the early 80’s, with his nephew Mike, Allan opened County Pool and Patio in Bolton, which they operated until the early 90’s. Following that endeavor, Allan operated MacCoubrey Excavating until his retirement.

Prior to moving to Bolton in 1983, Allan lived in a home in Adjala which he built himself on his weekends.

Allan was an avid drag racer for over 50 years and he and his “Lil Red Express” were well known in the drag racing community. Allan passed his passion for all things Mopar and drag racing on to his son Darcy. Allan and Darcy spent many years travelling Canada and the U.S. racing. Darcy will continue to race “Lil Red” in his Dad’s memory.

Allan was predeceased by his brother Ian and parents, Ira and Dora.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter Wendy, son Darcy (Amanda), granddaughters Sarah, Shannon and Charlotte, sister in law Jean, nephew and nieces, Mike, Sherry and Cindy and their families, cousins Wayne, Donna, Carole, Ann and their families and his close friend Anne.

Everyone is welcome to join us on September 8 at 11 am at The Glen Eagle Golf Club, 15731 Peel Regional Rd 50, Bolton, to share their favourite memories and remember Allan.
