ASIKIS, Antonis - Passed away peacefully on August 25, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 10, 1933 in Athens, Greece to Savas Asikis and Maria Varnava.
He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Vasiliki Bessie Asikis and the proud father of Savas (Frances), Christina (Jim) and Angela 'Linda' as he preferred to call her.
Antonis was the doting Pappou of Catherine, Victoria (Stanford), Anthony, Juliana, Evan, Mikayla and Jordan.
Everything he did, he did for his family. He will always be remembered for his deep love for his wife and his devotion to his children and grandchildren. Every Christmas and Easter he made sure the house was decorated for all the kids to enjoy, even as they grew into adults. He was also very funny, and always came up with one liners that left everyone laughing. Despite dementia taking away his voice and spirit, he will be remembered as a fantastic husband, wonderful father, and amazing Pappou.
Visitation will be held at R.S. Kane funeral home, Toronto, On., on Wednesday August 29th, from 4pm to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 222 Burbank Drive, Toronto, On., on Thursday August 30, at 10am. Interment at York Cemetery, Toronto, ON.
