Stuart Charlotte

TUART, The Reverend Dr. Charlotte  -

August 8, 1939 - April 28, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of The Reverend Dr. Charlotte Stuart on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Charlotte died peacefully, at home with her beloved "adopted" daughter, Ellen, by her side.

Charlotte leaves behind the loving members of the Stuart family in her native Scotland.

On this side of the Atlantic she will sorely be missed by her St. John's family and countless others.

Charlotte touched the lives of so many people. Charlotte first trained as a deaconess in Scotland, spent the years 1966-68 in Nigeria and came to Canada in 1970. After serving the church in many capacities, she graduated from Knox College and was ordained in 1981.

She was the minister of St. John's Presbyterian Church for twenty seven years. She has continued there as a very active Minister in Association until the time of her death.

Throughout her life Charlotte never lost the vision of God demanding justice in the world. Wherever she could she made things happen for the betterment of people and the community.

A Memorial Service for Charlotte will be held be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, 1 p.m., at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 415 Broadview Avenue, Toronto M4K 2M9.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. John's or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
