Liut CarloLIUT, Carlo - (1940 - 2018) -

It is with great sadness and love that we announce the death of Carlo who was called to God and died peacefully in his home with his family by his side on August 27, 2018.

Beloved husband and stunning dance partner of Graziella for 50 years. Father and role model to his four sons Marco (Rose), Paul (Daniella), John, and David (Monika).

Loving grandfather to Anthony, Carlo, Matthew and Olivia (the long awaited girl in the family that turned him into a softie).

Predeceased by his parents Angelo and Irma of Friuli, Italy, and his brother Roberto; survived by his brother Giovanni (Caterina), and his sisters in Italy, Rosa, Maria and Luciana.

Carlo will also be dearly missed by his large extended family, including the remaining of his 7 brothers-in-law who he bravely faced when stealing the heart of their younger sister, his numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren, and the countless friends he was privileged to know throughout his life.

The amazing stories that could be told about Carlo are endless, but as a modest man, he specifically requested that this notice be kept short. In 1961 Carlo arrived in Canada with equally limited measures of savings and English. His immigration was assisted by a kind stranger, Dr. William James of Milton, Ontario, who took a chance on helping a young man; Carlo never forgot that kindness. He showed his worth through hard work and perseverance and sought to help others starting out as a way to show his lifelong appreciation for the opportunity at a better life.

Carlo’s story is representative of the immigrant experience, replete with sacrifice, struggle, and determination; he raised a family and achieved business success with his loving wife Graziella as an equal partner at his side.

After a life and career of calling his own shots, he retired to the countryside and returned to his agricultural roots. He took joy in a hard days work outside while tending to his animals, his vegetable gardens and felling trees on his property with an axe held mightily in his strong hands.

His family will be eternally grateful for his sacrifices, his gifts, and his wisdom. We have lost a great man of integrity and truth, but his influence will continue to resonate with those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, Donations to Good Shepherd Ministries Toronto. would be appreciated by the family.

Friends may visit on Thursday August 30th from 2-4pm and 6-9 pm at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge).

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday August 31st at 10:00 am, at St. Padre Pio Church (5500 Major Mackenzie Dr., Kleinburg). Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
