Angell BillANGELL, William Alexander - May 8, 1933 – September 28, 2018 - With profound sadness, we share that William Alexander Angell passed away at Markham Stouffville Hospital on September 28, 2018, at the age of 85, following a brief illness.  In his final hours, he was comforted by the love and presence of his family.

Bill was the loving husband of Barbara for 37 years and the devoted father of Sandra (Shawn O’Grady) and Brenda (Rob Lalonde).

He was also the very proud and supportive grandpa of Connor O’Grady, Renée Lalonde and Ryan Lalonde.

Bill was the cherished brother of the late Heather MacDonald, and dear uncle of her daughters Anne and Maureen.

Bill started his 35-year career at IBM Canada, working in the mailroom at the age of 18. Through dedication and perseverance, he advanced himself by attending night school, ultimately earning his MBA.

In his retirement, he was an active member of Grace Anglican Church, volunteer board member for the condo he lived in and Chair of the Family Council at Union Villa, making many friends who appreciated his hard work, giving nature and friendly, outgoing personality.

Bill and Barbara loved to travel, to attend the theatre and enjoyed regularly dining out. They especially enjoyed their almost daily visits to Second Cup with friends, and were always busy planning their next adventure.

A visitation will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, Markham on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at Grace Anglican Church, 19 Parkway Ave. Markham on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 12pm with burial to follow at Markham.

Donations may be made to Grace Anglican Church or Sick Kids Hospital.
