LAWRENCE, Leonard Mancel Lawrence - February 24, 1927 – November 8, 2018 - Remembering the Humble, Gentle Neighbourhood Mechanic Leonard (Leo) Mancel Lawrence, everyone’s friend and auto mechanic, will be remembered for his honesty, kindness, calm demeanor and his love for all, especially children.

He quickly garnered respect from everyone whom he encountered. Known for his caring and generous manner, Leo was happy to give to others, even when he didn’t have much himself.

Having strong family values, he was a beloved father of 7 (Hyacinth, Claudette, Charmaine, Alva, Paula, Donovan & Dwayne); devoted grandfather of 18, united brother and faithful friend. His expectation of his children, was for them to obtain an outstanding education and to ensure they upheld strong family-bonding.

Determined to achieve ultimate academic status at the age of 86, Leo completed his Ontario technician certification in automotive electronics in 2013, and was devoted to spreading his knowledge with anyone who would listen.

A conversation with Leo always promised some type of life-lesson. Small in stature, yet a giant when it came to his positive impact on others, Leo went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable in his presence. He will be greatly and faithfully missed.

Visitation will be on Saturday November 17 at 5:00pm. Service of Remembrance will be on Sunday November 18, 2018 at 11:00am with a second visitation beginning at 10:00am. Services will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham Ontario. The interment, where Leo will be laid to rest, will immediately follow the service, at Ajax Ontario.

The family would like to thank everyone for their sincere condolences and salutations.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to two charities of the family’s choice (Jamaican Canadian Association of Nurses www.JCAN.me | Grace Scholarship Fund www.gracefund.org.).
