MacMillan DoreenMacMILLAN, Doreen Ann (nee URQUHART)   - Peacefully at home in Naples, Florida, on December 9, 2018, she was 85 years old.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, where she met her husband the late Jack MacMillan.

Together they raised five children (Paul, Susan, Derek, Stephen and Kevin) as they traversed North America before retiring to Naples in 1996.

Doreen made enduring friendships at every stop, always active in her community and on the links and lanes of each new home town. Doreen's children and 11 grandchildren will attest to her sense of adventure.

She enjoyed travel and loved to take her grandchildren along for her expeditions, whether across North America or Europe.

Ever active and always a faithful member of her church, she enjoyed the performing arts, golf, bowling and puzzles. With a passion for duplicate bridge she was a regular columnist on the topic in the Naples Daily News and a certified "Life Master".

She found joy in teaching young people the game and sponsored their participation in local tournaments.

A longtime resident of Pittsburgh, Doreen received degrees from The University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor enabled her to leave a positive impression on everyone she met and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Her legacy of love will be a lasting one.

A memorial mass is planned for January 11, 2019 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, in Naples Florida. A funeral mass and burial will be held in Toronto at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
