PENWELL, Charles Francis (Chef Charles) - It is with heavy hearts that the Penwell family announce that our brother, Charles Francis Penwell, (Chef Charles), passed away at Scarborough General Hospital on December 29, 2018, in his 67th year.
Charles was predeceased by his parents Caleb and Lydia.
He is survived by his son Morgan and daughter Mary.
Sadly missed by his brothers Morgan (Andrea) and Wilson (Greer) and sisters Betty (Bob), Beatrice (Kevin) and Dorothy (Malcolm).
Charles was a prestigious, blue ribbon chef.
His notable restaurants included the Gable Manor in Grimsby, the Green Slate Inn, Rebecca's Fine Dining and Richwell's in Port Carling.
A Memorial service will be held for Charles this Spring.
