CHAN, Kin Shek - 陳堅石先生 - (February 6, 1937 - March 26, 2019) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kin Shek Chan. He passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with lung cancer on the morning of March 26, 2019, surrounded by family as the sun was rising on his face.
Kin moved to Canada over 50 years ago, first landing in Calgary then moving his way to Montreal and eventually settling in the Toronto area.
He instantly fell in love with watching 'Hockey Night in Canada'. He was also an avid practitioner of Tai Chi and had a great passion for gardening into his retirement.
Kin lived an exciting life. He worked as a chef at several restaurants across Ontario and eventually came to owning and operating several restaurant businesses with his wife, Mei.
He is survived by his loving wife Mei and three sons Kevin, Gary, and Danny. He was always surrounded by love from his family, including his sons’ significant others Chantal, Linda, and Miyoshi.
Please join us in celebrating his life at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough, ON). Visitation will be held on Sunday March 31, 2019 between 10:00am to 11:00am. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am. Burial will commence at 12:00pm. Ceremonial lunch to follow the service.
